A postal employee unlatched the front door and signaled that they were open and ready for business. Then a lone customer parked out front tipped his hat, rolled up his window and strolled on in.
Inside, there were no long lines. No sounds of clanking post office boxes. No people.
The financially struggling U.S. Postal Service announced last week that it is considering closing some 3,700 post offices throughout the country. Six of these branches are in Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
But only one in Miami Dade: The Goulds branch.
